UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS

Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights is an annual horror theme park attraction featuring what Guillermo Del Toro referred to as the “crowning jewel of horror mazes in America”.

On selected nights from mid September to early November, audiences can experience mazes, live shows, rides, and other haunted attractions featuring most frightening characters from film and television. Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights is particularly attractive to horror fans due to high quality props, make-up and costumes which immerses audience members in terrifying scenes.

More about Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

Beginning in 1991 in Orlando, Florida, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights has been providing audiences haunted mazes, scare zones, live entertainment, and other haunted attractions featuring classic and contemporary character’s appearing in movies and television. Due to the immense popularity of the event, Universal Studios expanded Halloween Horror Nights to theme park locations in Hollywood, Singapore and Japan.

Halloween Horror Nights provides audiences with a mix of new attractions in addition to classic horror favorites. The 2016 event  featured 7 all-new terrifying mazes based on The Exorcist, Halloween – Hell Comes to Haddonfield, Freddy vs. Jason, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Krampus, and American Horror Story. Additionally, the park offers returning experiences, such as their classic Terror Tram, The Walking Dead (year-round maze),  Jabbawockeez (live show), and The Purge (scare zone). By attending Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, audiences should expect to experience high production quality haunted entertainment amidst heavy crowds rain or shine from 7pm to 2am.

Our advice:  Halloween Horror Nights is scarier and has a higher production value compared to other Theme Park events–but also suffers from long lines. We recommend buying front of the line pass or getting there as early as possible and heading to the lower lot first. Where Knott’s Scary Farm blends humor and horror together, Halloween Horror Nights focuses on a more serious horror tone overall. Also, be sure to hit the Tram Ride maze early as this is one of the first mazes to close each night.
