More on Mycotoo
Mycotoo is a large production company that has built immensely successful immersive experiences for clients like Universal Studios, Six Flags, HBO, and Warner Bros. While they are known for high-profile brand activations related to television and film IPs, they have also provided their services to museums, shopping centers, and other forms of entertainment. Mycotoo operates on a global scale – while much of their work sprouted from the Los Angeles entertainment industry, they have also produced in Dubai and Shanghai.
The company was founded by Clifford Warner in 2011, originally an outgrowth of a smaller production agency that Warner owned. According to Mycotoo’s website:
“Mycotoo’s signature appeal consists of our strong commitment to developing brands from a story-driven perspective, and our track record of delivering on that vision. We work seamlessly with architectural groups, operators, engineering firms and general contractors to ensure timely execution. Simply put: We serve as the Entertainment Producers for our partners.”
Mycotoo’s portfolio features a large number of spectacular, high-budget projects. They headed up the creative direction of Warner Bros’ “Horror Made Here,” a critically acclaimed horror experience that put Warner Bros. in the company of productions like Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” or Six Flags’ “Fright Fest.” Mycotoo was involved with the HBO Westworld Experience that took place at SXSW in Austin, Texas, primarily taking up the logistical duties of the ambitious immersive world. In the 3-hour theatrical experience, guests found themselves in the middle of a detailed new story set in the world of the titular sci-fi-Western drama.
Mycotoo was deeply involved with the Fallout 76 Experience at E3 2018, in which guests walked through a detailed recreation of some of the video game’s memorable moments. They performed script management and talent direction for the LA immersive pop-up “The Inkhole Speakeasy,” tied in with the Brian Henson film “The Happytime Murders.” The speakeasy invited guests to venture into a dark underbelly of the puppet world – and have a drink or two while they were at it. On an international level, they led the development team for Bollywood Parks, an Bollywood-inspired theme park located in Dubai.
The company offers a number of services, including experience design, brand development, creative direction, talent management, master planning, and client representation. Mycotoo’s reputation continues to increase as one of the premiere production agencies creating detailed immersive worlds.
