More on OA Experiential

Founded by Matt Ford in 2016, OA Experiential is a full-service creative design and production agency that specializes in brand activations and experiential marketing. They are perhaps best known for their installation celebrating NBC’s “The Good Place.” In the experience, guests walked through a stunning replica of the titular neighborhood featured on the show. To elevate things even further, guests were observed in a number of moral quandaries and – using RFID technology – judged to belong in either the Good Place or the Bad Place. The experience won a number of awards, including the EX Award for Best Production of a Consumer Event, and Event Tech’s Best Outdoor Environment 2018.

Their other projects are as varied as they are numerous. For Adidas, OA created a handful of colorful vending machines, which dispensed limited-edition Adidas gear to guests who found codes hidden in social media posts. For Red Bull’s Electric Daisy Carnival festivities, OA created a 900 square foot maze made of bamboo, in keeping with that year’s EDC theme. The maze included puzzles and clues that led guests to exclusive Red Bull merchandise and ultimately a secret Red Bull bar.

For Hyatt Hotel’s annual GM Global Summit, OA built a 20-foot dome that housed a serene environment for overstimulated convention-goers. Inside, guests partook in a 10-minute guided meditation that used lights, sounds, and even smells to go on an imagined journey to four remote parts of the world. For AMC Theaters, OA dispatched four food trucks that fed themed dishes to hungry fans of The Walking Dead, Doctor Who, and more.

OA Experiential has also pulled together what they call the “Immersive Core,” a roster of immersive creators who have built a reputation in the ever-growing industry. Fans of immersive horror may recognize names like Josh Randall, creator of Blackout, and Tommy Honton, creator of the Stash House escape room, among the list of high-profile artists.

OA outlines their mission on their website: “At OA Experiential, we know that you want to be recognized as an innovative industry leader.
