Immersive Horror

Los Angeles

Shinbone Theatre Company, Afterlife Anonymous, Immersive Theater, Los Angeles, CA

From the award-winning immersive artists behind “What Went Wrong” and “Welcome Back, Woodchucks” comes a hilarious new theatrical experience about life, death, and everything in between.

The bad news is…you’re dead. The even MORE bad news is you’ve just been forcibly enrolled in a support group for ghosts who are addicted to haunting.

Step outside of reality into a spooky, spectral world of bickering spirits and emotional support exercises. Do you even KNOW how difficult a trust fall is when you’re made of ectoplasm? It won’t be easy, but with the help of your fellow deceased, you may even have the chance to escape limbo and discover what lies on the other side…if you don’t get exorcised first.

“Afterlife Anonymous” is an intimate, immersive, interactive experience. Part comedy and part haunt, this will be a theatrical event unlike anything else in Los Angeles – and just in time for Halloween!

Dead Souls Bordello, Immersive Horror, Burbank, Los Angeles, CA

Give Up The Ghost, Immersive Theater, Los Angeles, Whittier, CA, Spectacular Disaster Factory

Give Up the Ghost is an interactive and immersive haunting play where you, the audience, are your own ghosts in the afterlife, lingering in Death’s foyer before the Ferryman brings you across the River to your final destination.

Give Up the Ghost reverses the typical Halloween haunt – the participants play their dead selves called back from the shore of Eternity to bear witness to the sorrows and terrors of the living. This is not a gore-fest, extreme haunt or jump-scare maze. The audience will interact with characters at the edge of life and death in scenes that can be violent, tragic, and occasionally darkly humorous. Unlike some immersive events, the choices each audience member makes will haunt them, will change their story, and just might change the entire narrative. What choices will you make, as your light grows dim?

Use the promo code HAUNTING for a special 20% discount.

NOTE: While this show has horror themes, it is not a scary show.

HAUS guests will spend the hour roaming an avant-garde and nightmarish playground of over a dozen installations, witnessing grand shocking scenes as well as intimate scares. Elaborate lighting and diverse and detailed environments create a surreal world in which guests may find themselves lost, unsure where reality ends and the show begins. The 17th Door, Fearless, Orange County, Fullerton, CA, Extreme Haunt

The 17th Door presents FEARLESS for 2019:

We return once more to Perpetuum Penitentiary and the torturous story of our Paula. After accepting responsibility for the vicious murder of her son, Lincoln, Paula now seeks atonement for past sins. Even after months of intense labor, strengthening her body and mind, Paula has repeatedly failed in appealing to the Prison’s sinister Warden for freedom. It’s not enough. It’s never enough. Her work must continue.

At Perpetuum, a new circle of hell has taken root. Courtesy of Vixi Labs, and by the Warden’s decree, all Prison treatment facilities will now be powered by revolutionary Vixi-technology. Operated by vile and sadistic engineers, their unorthodox methods for treating evils of humanity have hit new levels of depravity. They are enjoying every minute.

Will you join Paula in her fight for redemption? Or will you succumb to the madness? Will you cry Mercy or will you emerge from Perpetuum changed and “FEARLESS”?

HSLB, Historical Society of Long Beach, Historical Cemetery Tour, Long Beach, CA, Immersive Theater, 2019

Amidst some of the oldest grave sites since Long Beach was established, rest the colorful, sometimes sordid stories of the past, of pioneers, speculators and others just along for the ride. The tour features graveside presentations by actors who relate the life and demise of the person lying in rest. Each year’s program features a number of stories – some are individuals who helped shape the city’s political past, others are ordinary people whose tales remind us that rich or poor, famed or nearly forgotten, everyone has a story to tell.

Summoned home to the family laboratory, and assisted by Igor, the lovely lab assistant Inga, and Frau Blucher (his grandfather’s housekeeper and main squeeze), he is soon caught up in the family business. Spook Show's Biz-aar, 2019, Halloween Club, Convention, Festival, Los Angeles, Orange County, CA

For the past few years, horror and Halloween enthusiasts near and far have traveled to meet where all kindred spirits may lie. This gathering of haunting is known as the “Spook Show,” an annual event conjured up by the Halloween Club.

Spook Show started with a simple mission: facilitate an outdoor gathering where local Southern Californian businesses and fellow enthusiasts may come share their penchant for the macabre. The Spook Show festival was tightly embraced, and a word-of-mouth-like-sharing-spell spread in alerting fellow ghouls and freaks to come recreate, sell, exhibit, shop, taste, listen, frolic and celebrate the unique culture inspired by the ancient Halloween tradition.

The Halloween Bazaar will feature curated local vendors, artists, collectors, teachers, spook-makers, spookipreneurs, and musicians for like-minded Halloween enthusiasts. Halloween Club will also hold their biggest sale event on 1000s of costumes, accessories and decorations.

Dates: Sept 21

Times: 12pm-7pm

Price: Free with RSVP

Location: Halloween Club – La Mirada (14447 Firestone Blvd., La Mirada, CA 90638)
