Los Angeles Halloween Guide 2020
Halloween is part of Los Angeles culture. In 2019, there were over one hundred home haunts, over twenty large-scale and professional haunts, and countless immersive horror experiences available for audiences and participants alike to be scared and partake in the season. Unfortunately, with the Covid-19 recommendations restrictions, many of our favorite haunts have gone dark this season. For that reason, we bring you the Halloween Guide 2020.
But don’t worry, L.A. has found a way to creatively reinvent Halloween with safety precautions intact. We have seen new horror attractions announcing their events every day, showing us that Halloween is going to happen this year and be one of the strongest yet. After all, Halloween can never truly be canceled when it exists in our imaginations, in our hearts, and in the scares in the crisp Autumn air.
Below you will find a list of everything we could find in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas (including Las Vegas), conveniently categorized by Drive-Thru Haunted Houses, Drive-Thru Experiences, Immersive Horror, Halloween Exhibits, Haunted Houses, Community & Home Haunts, and Halloween Yard Displays. Please keep in mind that, due to current state restrictions, most events will require advanced reservations or tickets.
We will be updating this guide regularly as new events are announced. If you know of any events that we should add, send us an email and let us know!
Note: Haunting will not be promoting any full-contact shows that are operating during a Pandemic. No matter what a state or government is saying is appropriate, there is no way these haunts are reaching a level that is safe, especially when guests are traveling and actors are getting in direct contact with participants. Incubation times are 14 days and some people show no temperature change. We must band together, because the quicker contact experiences start coming back, the longer our immersive industry will be shut down.
Drive-Thru Haunted Houses
Los Angeles
Last year BCR “A Place to Grow” provided a walk-in attraction for a weekend in October, and the proceeds helped purchase new supplies for their participants to utilize. This year one of their volunteer scare actors proposed having a “drive-in haunt.” It would allow the guests to enjoy a night of fright from the safety of their car.
Guests will receive safety guidelines at the entrance during the check-in. Then the guest will be guided through by one of the actors. The guide will escort them to the marker, which will be labeled stop. Once the guest is parked at the marker, they will be instructed to turn off the engine and headlights. When the vehicle is completely shut off, the scene will commence. Once the scene is over, guests will be instructed by their guide to proceed to the next stage, where they will meet the following guide for the scene. All guides will advise the guest throughout all six scenes.
Dates: Oct 16-18, 23-25, & 30-31 On the 30 & Halloween there will be No Actors.
Times: Fri & Sat 6pm – 11pm, Sun 6pm-10pm
Price: $20 donation
Location: BCR: A Place to Care (230 Amherst Drive, Burbank, CA 91504)

Looking for some bone chilling fun? Well, Greenspot Farms has become well known for it’s thrilling Haunted Hayride. Our beautiful groomed farm becomes scattered with wicked monsters and screaming lost souls by night! The taunting old farmer is back with his twisted family for thirteen nights of horror to reclaim what is “THEIRS!” They haunt the ravines, orchards, and lonely winding roads searching for others, (YOU) to entertain them. While waiting for your ride sip on a cup of coffee or hot cider and warm yourself by our fire. It may be the last bit of comfort you will ever get! Let the Terror on the Farm begin!!!! We have taken you down dark winding roads and into the orchards filled with haunting screams. Every year you return for more! So, you got it! No more safe confines for the tractor wagons. “the trail” will take you deep into the farm where you will be alone except for the creepy crawlers. Can you find your way back through the rustling rush and tall looming trees? Or will you find yourself in the arms of the farms darkest creature, the ones that keep you awake at night?
