Into The Film offered the unique opportunity to live a film. Become a character, don your finest costume, and enter the fictional world. Creator Erik Geffner-Mihlsten plans on using different movies for each experience–offering diverse and unique interactions and socializing, blurring the lines of actor and participant prior to a movie screening. Into the Film transports an audience directly into the movie. With a love that spans from old Hollywood to recent masterpieces, they plan pick narratives with evocative and powerful themes–offering the chance for people to dress up and connect to a story that spans generations. They specifically choose each venue to match the movie choice, allowing the set and decor to complement the themes and tone of the movie. Their goal is for guests to be able to arrive and feel like a character in a movie, complete with their own storylines and unique interactions with the actors and sets.
Previous Works:
Phantom of the Opera: Exploring this classic tale of unrequited love, Into the Film draws inspiration from the 1925 silent movie version, starring Lon Chaney. This experience combines the silent classic with live actors, accompanying live music, drinks, and crepes (unlimited for an extra fee). Email sent out prior to event provided a detailed backstory, a persona, for each patron to embody. This event was full of glamour, wonderment, and drama.
