Glenwood Mine Co 2023 - Home Haunt - La Crescenta CA

Glenwood Mine Co 2023 is an Exceptional Home Haunt in La Crescenta

Glenwood Mine Co 2023

“Why was the miner depressed?” A woman asks, readjusting her hardhat. “Because he couldn’t see the light at the end of his tunnel!” She slaps her knees, showing dirt smudged across the bridge of her nose. “And he couldn’t even have a drink—because they don’t serve miners.” We laugh at the joke, as the donkey standing next to the miner shakes off a fly—and the bell around the donkey’s neck rattles. “Oh, she’s just sad that her brother Jack is lost in the mine. You wouldn’t be willing to go in and look, would you?” We nod, and excitement beams across the miner’s face. “You can start by pushing that lever!” As we comply, and push down on the plunger next to a box marked Explosives, the walls shake, and orange lit smoke pours out. “Oh, not that lever!” She cries, as the walls of Glenwood Mine Co 2023 continue to shake.

Glenwood Mine Co 2023 is a home haunt in La Crescenta that is unlike most home haunts you’ll experience. Utilizing the slope of their property, creators Polly and Kirby Jackson have created a mine shaft that feels like it is actually descending deeper into the Earth. The experience likely lasts six to seven minutes, with an elevator ride in the middle, reminiscent of Pirate’s Cave haunt in 2021. There’s numerous actors hidden within the walls as well as the never ending tunnels diving deeper down. And be warned—there may be something buried inside that you shouldn’t be releasing. But guess that’s not a big deal, as long as you can find Jack the Donkey and bring him to safety!

The set design of Glenwood Mine Co is exceptional. The passageways are perfectly decorated with an aesthetic that looks like real rock and stone surrounding you on all sides. Bones, chains, and netting add character to the mine—and the floor is uneven, set a decline, and even rumbles with ferocity as it glows a menacing red and orange. As impressive as the mine tunnels are, the elevator is equally as impressive. It shakes and rattles as it descends. A viewport offers a view of the outside—and whatever might be hiding in the dark. There’s some really wonderful effects inside that we won’t spoil, but they definitely led to a scream or two from our group.

Glenwood Mine Co 2023 is anything but a standard mine. It has tapped into something demonic—or undead—down in its pits. And as the elevator descends, its clear that whatever is down there is unfriendly. As the doors open, the miners try to rescue you, but its too late. The walls are crumbling, the planks above you shift and crack in a manner reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. Glenwood Mine Co 2023 perfectly capture that feeling of a mine coming down on itself. But as you find the exit—it’s not over. The evil has spread outside, and a few last scares remain. It’s a perfect finale to a maze that impressed us every step of the way.

Glenwood Mine Co 2023 starts with jokes from Polly, and has such a charm to it that it’s hard not to remember. But when you step inside, its clear that the design of this home haunt is so much more that cheeky dad jokes or a quest to save a donkey. It’s a gorgeous attention to detail, impressive scare acting from the denizens inside, and enough tech and special effects to rival most theme park experiences. We love Glenwood Mine Co 2023 and hope Jack gets lost again so we can continue to find him next year.
