More on Stoney Point
Stoney Point was created by Mark Pelletier, who played the character Jimmy in 1986’s horror movie House. This haunt was built as a way for him to spread the enjoyment of scary stories to his own family.
The first version of the haunt was built on a very small scale in the yard, 20-25 feet to a side. The haunt uses multiple scenes to make the space feel larger.
Scenes incorporate store-bought items with clever set design to make a truly Gothic atmosphere filled with body parts, candles, skulls and darkly lit corners. The girls of the family are costumed as well within the haunt, looking lost and forlorn and giving an eerie addition to the experience.
Stoney Point wants to appeal to people of all ages, so the live actors are there mostly for atmosphere instead of jump-scares (but you can never be too certain). Excellent theming both inside the maze and in the lavish outdoor yard display.
