Stoney Point – A Home Haunt That’s a Great Deal of Fun
I am expecting this haunt to be pretty standard as I enter but, to my surprise, the first living thing I see is a small girl with haunted eyes and a sudden snarl as she leaps in my direction. The scream that leaps from my mouth is more than legitimate. stoney point
Stoney Point is a free home haunt that is targeted for guests of all ages. It’s not a very long haunt as it’s been built in a rough square on the front lawn of a house in Santa Clarita. However, because participants are sent in only one or two at a time, the small size works quite well. Guests see a few different scenes as they move through the square and have the time to admire the elaborate decorations of each location.
The true stars of this haunt are its actors, all of whom are little girls. In multiple different costumes, such as a shroud or a Victorian-style dress, these girls utilize scare tactics that suggest they will be professionals in the very near future. Perhaps it’s the combination of appropriate lunging and facial expressions mixed with the fact that every actor in this haunt is a little girl that makes this home haunt so effective. All I know is that although the haunt lasted just above two minutes, my heart was racing by the time I left.
Stoney Point proves that even a home haunt can have some real scare value if you play to your strengths. With little girls that are as creepy as they are effective, this haunt is a great deal of fun. And don’t miss the exciting yard display that accompanies the haunt, full of other little girls just as creepy as the ones found inside the haunt.
