THE DREICH SOCIETY
The Dreich Society is a home haunt located in Ontario, California that has been launching small but ambitious projects since 2015. Dreich is notable for a few signature special effects, many of which are normally reserved for much larger, more expensive productions.

- Traditional haunted house with jump scares
- No intentional touch from actors
- Family-friendly – no graphic content
- Special effects including strobe lights, fog, and moving platforms
- Guests are divided into groups of approximately 6-9, though smaller groups can be accommodated upon request
- Tight spaces and darkness may be used

More on The Dreich Society
Since 2015, The Dreich Society has been scratching the Halloween itch for the underserved community of Ontario, California. Dreich made a strong impression at Midsummer Scream 2019 with their miniature haunt “Fear Fest ‘89,” a nostalgic trip through classic horror of the late eighties and early nineties. With an eye-catching movie theater exterior, guests ventured into the worlds of Friday the 13th, Alien, The Shining, and more.
It was a standout entry in the convention’s jam-packed Hall of Shadows, due in no small part to its memorable “elevator” illusion that has become the group’s signature special effect. Dreich has used it in several experiences thus far, though always in a clever and unique context. In a short interview with The Dreich Society, Creative Director Sean Burke emphasized their interest in sensory effects and what he calls “life size illusions.” Burke also noted other elements that are hard to find in most small home haunts, such as temperature changes and subliminal audio.
Outside of these novel twists, The Dreich Society’s mazes are fairly straightforward, mostly drawing inspiration from classic horror films. It’s a crowd-pleasing haunt with plenty of jump scares, often coming from recognizable characters and settings.
The haunt runs for a very short time, typically on Halloween night and a few nights following. Situated in a cul-de-sac in a suburban neighborhood, there is usually street parking available. As they do not have an official website, guests can follow The Dreich Society’s Facebook page for details on upcoming productions.
