Express All Stars Trail of Terror in Grand Junction, Colorado
What does Halloween Horror have in common with the Express All Stars cheer and dance program in Grand Junction, CO? A lot! The Express All Stars Trail of Terror is their biggest fundraiser, enabling the team to travel across America for competition.
The Express All Stars Trail of Terror opened their spooky season Friday, 11th of October for their 27th year.
This year’s Express All Stars Trail of Terror features 21 rooms spread over 9000 square feet. Guests will navigate an indoor/outdoor maze of scenes inspired by movies, traditional Halloween themes, and the imaginations of the organizers and actors.
The actors for this haunt are drawn entirely from the team and their parents, and they bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the haunt. Also, the actors in Trail of Terror may touch patrons. My own experience in two visits to a previous show is that no one is tackling a visitor. Their use of touch was more startling and eerie than aggressive.
To help visitors not to panic, the entry staff loops a long piece of cord from one wrist to the other, a gentle reminder not to overreact to a young actor.
Maze Master Cody, aka Mr. Giggles, took some time from his busy day to chat with me and give updates on the Trail of Terror. He promises an exciting finish to the trail this year, but is keeping the details to himself. We’ll just have to find out in person.
From my own experience, $15 for a haunt this big and fun is a bargain. If you need to skip the line, Fast Pass is available for $25. Treat yourself to some delightful scares at the 2024 Express All Stars Trail of Terror!
