TALES FROM THE CRYPT COMES ALIVE!

Join  Captured Aural Phantasy Theater as they open the tomb to let loose an evening of spooky and riotous entertainment as the classic EC horror comic book comes to life on stage! Captured Aural Phantasy Theater presents a live performance of vintage TALES FROM THE CRYPT comic stories from the 50’s to add a little retro thrill to your Halloween season. For this very special evening, The Philosophical Research Society will transform into the Theater of Mystery, featuring dramatic readings of spine-tingling comic book stories, projections, live music, a little magic and haunting songs from the troupe’s ethereal chanteuse. The Tales from the Crypt title began as a delightfully demented and shocking comic book series in the early 1950’s, inspiring generations of horror writers and filmmakers. Captured Aural Phantasy Theater is the only group in the world authorized to perform these, and sister titles like “Weird Science,” live! Don’t miss the only chance you’ll get to see TALES FROM THE CRYPT come alive on stage this Halloween season.

Captured Aural Phantasy Theater is what would happen if Garrison Keilor, John Waters and Stan Lee all hooked up after a night of hard partying. Combining the art, drama and comedy of a vintage radio program with the live entertainment of a variety show, our specialty is giving old comics a modern voice.Dedicated to producing high-quality live, filmed and recorded entertainment in LA since 2008, our performance group has performed all over, most recently at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, Dynasty Typewriter, and our 10th appearance at San Diego Comic-con.
